AREA22 · SOURCE AUDIT

Antisemitism Data Audit

ADL, government hate-crime records, FBI tables, and BJS victimization estimates shown as distinct measurement systems with visible provenance.

Snapshot
Oct 1, 2026
Rule: no blended “true antisemitism” score. Counts stay attached to the source and definition that produced them.

New York government-coded anti-Jewish incidents

NYS and NYPD, joined only by year.

ADL

What police data can miss

BJS NCVS, 2015–2019. Broad hate-crime victimization, not specifically anti-Jewish.

BJS
Two ADL layers are preserved: the full 69,984-record H.E.A.T. corpus and the 41,648-record source subset returned when filtered to “Antisemitic Incident.”

Sensitivity rule

For 2024 onward, the sensitivity line subtracts only records where ADL’s source field says field_israel_zionism_related = Yes. Blank does not mean “No,” and the remainder is not asserted to be a validated count of genuine antisemitism. Before 2024, that field is not populated comparably, so no sensitivity remainder is shown.

FBI anti-Jewish incidents

Captured official UCR Table 1 values, 2017–2019 only.

Federal caveat

The federal view is intentionally partial. The captured FBI workbooks cover 2017–2019; they are not extended into a fake continuous line. BJS estimates are broader victimization measures and are never joined as if they were anti-Jewish incident counts.

Auditability: raw source files remain outside the website bundle; SHA-256 manifests for the preserved captures are published here so the snapshot can be checked against the local archive.
